Falcon’s Digital Media was contracted to provide custom media and audio content for the ‘world’s first’ Immersive Superflume ride at the new Trans Studio Cibubur indoor theme park in Indonesia.
Through a collaborative process with Simworx and Interlink, the attraction providers, Falcon’s set out to take riders on an intense journey through Dinosaur Island, a prehistoric, dense jungle that serves as the home for genetically-resurrected rulers of the primordial world.
Riders are thrust into chaos, unwittingly witnessing blood-thirsty creatures engage in an epic battle royale taking place right in front of them! These dueling kings are bent on each other’s destruction, and tourists are caught in the middle.
In addition to the media presentation, the attraction featured several other stages beginning with scenic, animatronics, and audio elements. From there, guests journeyed into a motion simulator and then a 4D immersive tunnel featuring wind, water, and scents. The 3D dinosaur simulation was next followed by an exit into a vertical lift tower with views of the indoor park. Guests then drop and splashdown past a giant animatronic T-rex.
Muscle systems were built for each dinosaur to drive the secondary skin animation and give a good sense of weight to their movements. Water dynamics were calculated using distributed simulation to lower machine time. The lighting of the scene was built in a way to seamlessly flow from indoor to outdoor environments while keeping render times manageable. Compositing then integrated all final digital renders into one seamless experience compatible with the unique screen shape of the venue.
Every department within our media team had a hand in making this look, feel, and sound amazing. Concept artists had a blast designing the genetically modified dinosaurs using real anatomy as a foundation. The 3D asset team created customized tools that increased quality while optimizing files for render time. We embraced the use of photogrammetry to help achieve a more photorealistic look.
The attraction was built in virtual reality so we could “sit” inside a virtual replica of the venue and get a good sense of lighting, action, and scale throughout the experience. Our animation team spent many hours researching reference to get the dinosaurs’ movements just right. They worked independently on various elements of the show for faster iterations, and then seamlessly combined their work.

Lastly, our sound designer not only created a custom musical score, but he also had the opportunity to create all of the unique sounds that distinguished the dinosaurs from one another. He dialed in the acoustics for an optimal, immersive 7.1 surround sound experience. The objective was to deliver a stunning, rich, inspired, and enthralling dinosaur encounter that wowed guests in this action-packed environment. Placing riders in the center of the melee, as huge T-rexes roared at them, added a hair-raising dimension to this adrenaline-filled experience.
Falcon’s was thrilled to be chosen as the media developer for this bold endeavor. We couldn’t be more satisfied that audiences around the world are coming face-to-face with these massive animals in a photorealistic, immersive, near 360° landscape.
